Life can be relentless, frantic and exhausting – but it doesn’t have to be this way…Based on the best selling book: Finding Peace in a Frantic World, this course teaches you MINDFULNESS based on a set of simple yet powerful practices that you can incorporate into daily life to help you break the cycle of anxiety, stress, unhappiness and exhaustion.
It promotes genuine joie de vivre; the kind of happiness that gets into your bones and seeps into everything you do. The course is based on Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). MBCT revolves around a straightforward form of mindfulness meditation which takes just a few minutes a day for the full benefits to be revealed. MBCT has been clinically proven to be at least as effective as drugs for depression and it is recommended by the UK’s National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence – in other words, it works. But more importantly, it also works for the rest of us who aren’t depressed but who are struggling to keep up with the relentless demands of the modern world. In short, Mindfulness helps you meet the worst that life throws at you with renewed courage. Mindfulness is co-authored by Professor Mark Williams of Oxford University, co-developer of MBCT and inspiring meditation teacher.
The Course: A Practical Path to Finding Peace in a Frantic World.
This is an 8 week course based on the best selling book Mindfulness: A practical guide to finding peace in a frantic world by Mark Williams and Danny Penman.
Who is the course for? Anyone dealing with and wanting to find way of managing stress, anxiety, depression or trying to establish a work life balance long term.
*Please note that this course is not for people who are acutely ill, suffer from acute depression or who wish to be passive recipients of support and advice. Nor is it a substitute for professional therapy.
Home Practice: There will be home practice for people to do in between sessions, which takes at least 15 minutes a day and includes short guided meditations and short mindful activities.
Course fee: £245 for the 8 week course which includes a FREE book and Meditation CD. When booking online you will be asked to pay a 50% deposit and the remaining balance will be required 1 week before the course start date. Pre course reading: Chapters 1-4 of the book: Mindfulness: a practical guide to finding peace in a frantic world by Mark Williams and Danny Penman. You will also be required to practice some guided meditations in your own time between attendance sessions.
